Here comes to our SOLUTIONS. Our proposed solution is a combination of both hardware and software. For the hardware, we have introduced an extensive modularized roof greening system. Its dimension is only 1m x 1m which can fit into any roof in Hong Kong. The benefits of the modularized system are fivefold, including:

 

 

 

 

For the softwares, it is an integration of incentive schemes into a new legislation. Every successful country in greening begins their movements with legislation. Therefore, we start our roof greening proposal with a ‘Mandatory Roof Greening Scheme (MRGS)’. Under this scheme, a new regulation called ‘Building (Green Roof) Regulation’ is introduced. This regulation authorizes a new regulatory body, Green Roof Association (GRA), to regulate the roof greening of all existing buildings and new developments. It makes roof greening compulsory among all buildings, with some exemptions. Failure to comply with this regulation will be subject to penalties.
